Gemini CLI

Google’s open-source agent for the terminal. MCP servers live in ~/.gemini/settings.json.

Install prompt

Add Toolport to Gemini CLI by running gemini mcp add toolport npx -y @toolport/mcp. Check it appears under mcpServers in ~/.gemini/settings.json, then ask me for my issue tracker token.

Steps

  1. Run the command below in any terminal.

  2. Open ~/.gemini/settings.json and check for a toolport entry under mcpServers.

  3. Start Gemini CLI and run /mcp to list Toolport’s tools.

  4. Paste your issue tracker token when Gemini CLI asks for it.
