Terms of Service

These terms cover the Toolport MCP server, the hosted endpoint and this website. They’re written to be read, not skimmed past.

Agreement

These terms govern your use of Toolport: the open-source MCP server published as @toolport/mcp, the hosted endpoint at mcp.toolport.example, and this website (together, the Service). The Service is provided by Toolport Labs, Inc.

By installing the package or connecting to the hosted endpoint, you agree to these terms. If you use Toolport on behalf of an organization, you accept them for that organization.

The open-source server

The self-hosted server is licensed under the MIT licence. These terms add nothing to that licence for code you run yourself. They apply to the hosted endpoint, the documentation and any support we provide.

Accounts and tokens

The hosted endpoint signs you in with your issue tracker over OAuth. You’re responsible for the tokens you issue and the repositories you authorize.

Revoke a token in your tracker’s settings and access stops on the next request. We never ask for your password.

Acceptable use

Don’t use the Service to read repositories you aren’t authorized to access, to make requests at a volume that degrades it for others, to get around rate limits or scope restrictions, or to break the law.

We may suspend access that puts the Service or other people at risk. Where we can, we’ll tell you first and explain why.

Read-only by design

Toolport requests the repo:read scope and nothing else. It can’t create, edit, comment on or close issues.

Your agent may have other tools that can. Those are outside our control, and you remain responsible for what your agent does with them.

Availability and changes

The hosted endpoint is in beta and provided as is. We aim for high availability but don’t guarantee it.

We may change or retire features. When a change breaks a tool’s inputs or outputs, we’ll announce it in the changelog at least 30 days ahead.

Fees

The hosted endpoint is free while it’s in beta. If we introduce paid plans, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before any charge, and nothing will be billed without your explicit consent.

Disclaimers and liability

Except where the law says otherwise, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, and Toolport Labs isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$100.

Ending these terms

You can stop using the Service at any time by revoking your token and removing the server from your client. We may end access if you breach these terms. Sections that should survive by their nature, such as the liability limits, will survive.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Questions about them go to legal@toolport.example.
